One can clearly see the wooden beams used in the construction of the roof, sourced from local pine. The use of wood on a large scale in Mexican construction is rare as it is an expensive material that needs to be imported from the USA. Most construction in Mexico is primarily done with reinforced concrete - with concrete being a major product of Mexico. Wood is sometimes used as external support and scaffolding during the construction phase but rarely as a permanent construction material.
