[1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14138880259406286.jpg In this picture you can see a small party of the alternative and temporary settlement "Uferlos" located in Basel, Switzerland. This is a group of people, mainly artists and students, that travel from area to area and always stay as long as they can. The majority lives in old wooden circus trailers but there are also many elements that were contructed on site recycling various materials but mainly europallets. Building furnitre or other erections from europallets is generally a new trend. I am not sure to what extend this refers to "globalized" material but since europallets are used for the transport of goods worldwide I thought this is an interesting example. Who knows where the pallets have already been and where they will go when the community has to move and deconstruct their small village. They also implement various other elements and reuse them for other things than their inital function. Recycling does not have to be on a global scale only but starts with the individual's creativity.
