The construction materials generally used in Chile are mostly imported from other countries, specially buildings with higher technology equipment. In this case, we can see the windows of a new building located in Nueva Las Condes in Santiago, where the materials used are not produced nor crafted in the country. Another different case (but that really comes to the case) is the one of the materials produced in Chile, like copper. The mineral is extracted in the north of Chile, in the Atacama Desert, where is separated from other metals and minerals and is exported to other countries in plates to transform them into a final product. Later, is exported once again to Chile as a copper strip for electrical systems or in copper panels for exterior cladding. This is shown in the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM) in Santiago's downtown. ![enter image description here][2] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14150659397382615.png [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14150667825385455.png
