To this day, farmers, vendors, butchers and other "merchants" gather here on every friday to sell their wares. The street, which runs through the very center of Sion, is filled with life during the most part of the day, reaching it's crowd peak around midday. **Visible information:** We clearly see it's a place of gathering, both for vendors and buyers alike. The tradition is kept alive, generation after generation. Exchanges of wares, words and experiences take place, among people from different backgrounds and professions. Traffic is blocked in order for the street to be entirely dedicated to pedestrians. The sole vehicles allowed are during the morning and evening, to setup and pack up the market respectively. **Invisible information:** This event contributes greatly to local economies. It fuels the city's sustainability, allowing direct exchange between supplier and consumer. Goods are brought from the outskirts and sold in the very heart of the city, in a fashion closely tied to local tradition. The picture doesn't show us the street without the market, but it's a space within the city with enough versatility to allow for these and many other kinds of events. It's central, it has limited vehicle access and its very shape and solar exposure make it the ideal place for both living and working.
