[1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14134456776055436.jpg I took this photograph on 2008. The picture shows the Zocalo, the most important public square in Mexico City, with the Nomadic Museum of Gregory Colbart that arrived to our country on that year. In the image, we can see the bamboo structure of the museum next to Mexico’s flag, the people gathering around the building, even taking the street, to watch the exposition, the secondary stage for other exhibition placed to the right of Gregory’s gallery and Mexico’s colonial cathedral at back of this entire public event at the plaza. This Zocalo frame would not be repeated again because of the diversity of activities and social events or movements that it harbors. Since 2008, Zocalo has witnessed other entertainment events, cultural and sports, such as the World Cup, free massive concerts, Friendly Culture Fair, etc. It has commemorated the county’s most important celebrations such as the Bicentenary of Mexico’s Independence, Dead`s Day offerings and some other festivities. It has been taken by social manifestations for days, weeks or even months by people who demand justice, but also by politicians who used the public space for parking. Its last condition is to remain just with the pole’s flag allowing Mexicans and tourists walk freely through its concrete floor. The invisible information that can be extracted from this photo is: 1. People’s social condition. Depending on the event that is taking place, different social groups will gather at Zocalo’s esplanade. Nomadic Museum exhibition probably didn’t affect the visitors for the social condition because it was a sporadic cultural event. Maybe it did because of people’s personal interests. 2. People’s purchase. According to the event, sales will be higher or lower in the different stores that are next to the plaza. Maybe informal commerce has the best earnings some days. Choosing the first point, the invisible information can became knowledge with a census or an interview program. The central aim will be to identify the social groups who assist to the different types of events. The results will allow setting up the right conditions for the event that will take place at the Zocalo or maybe it will help to prevent a chaotic situation. This information will also allow us to know the fluency of people, the time they arrive to the event and their way of transportation.
