Visible information Photo from Churchill Square in Rotterdam during marathon 2014. Visible is the utilitarian infrastructure for cars, bicycles and pedestrians in form of streets with traffic markings, tram rails, bicycle lanes, street walks, traffic lights and signing. But the function of urban space have changed radically or rather has been deactivated: Visible on top of the infrastructure layer is a corridor made up of spectators watching the professional athletes and other contenders compete. Other people walking and cycling dedicated through the urban space not paying attention the underlying patterns of the infrastructure. Invisible information The deactivation of a large part of the infrastructure means a pressure test on the other operational parts. Knowledge How well is the infrastructure of this city performing when a large part of it is deactivated? Data from public transport and traffic counting devises throughout the city should be analyzed. Crosscheck the data from a comparable day when the infrastructure is fully functional. This could lead to knowledge for planning of future public events or optimized (double) use of infrastructure space and ultimately a better use of public space [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/1417880575483854.jpg
