The picture shows the Silver Jubilee Bridge in Runcorn, with the River Mersey and Manchester Ship Canal in the foreground. The bridge shows that there is a need for people to cross from one side of the River Mersey to the other, with the ship canal proving that there is still a need, albeit a reduced one, for goods to be transported by boat from Liverpool to Manchester. Out of shot of the picture is a new bridge, the Mersey Gateway bridge, being constructed which will replace the Jubilee Bridge. This shows us the invisible information for the Jubilee Bridge, it shows that the number of people crossing the Jubilee Bridge has surpassed the number with which the Jubilee Bridge can cope. It also hints at a large investment in Merseyside and the liklihood of regeneration of the area as a whole. The number of people crossing the Silver Jubilee Bridge can become knowledge by using sensors on the bridge to count the number of cars crossing it. It may even be possible to use numberplate recognition to determine where a car has travelled from so it is possible to work out whether the bridge is primarily for local or national use.
