The photo depicts the Paddington Branch of the Grand Union Canal, opened in 1801 for commercial fluvial traffic. Information visible in the photo: the canal flows in a densely inhabited territory with a flyover bridge towering on the right side. There is a concrete walkable towpath alongside the stream with a man walking a dog, a small portion of bare land limited by a wall covered with graffitis and some vegetation. On the other side of the canal some trees are visible and, at the back, two moored riverboats. Two invisible informations: a) Since the decay of goods transportation along the canal in the past, a rehabilitation project has been carried on with the aim of restore an urban space. b) The mentioned project improved wildlife presence in the canal, enhancing its attractiveness. Future planning resulting from invisible information: Exploiting the potential of the canal and its surroundings with an ecological restoration intervention similar to Still Creek in Vancouver, Canada, where salmons are back after 80 years! This could enhance liveability for humans, wildlife and plants at the same time. [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14180694427769916.jpg
