Excercise 1 - Invisible Info
FC-01x Future Cities (1st Run) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2014-10-24 by smiret
For this first exercise I have chosen a photo of the coast city of Mar del Plata in Buenos Aires, Argentina. 1. In the image we can find several constructions and a variety of typologies. There are tall housing buildings, small chalet houses and great sheds. It´s also visible that there are old constructions. This may tell us something about different stages of the development of the city. 2. What we can translate into invisible information is the economic growth of the city trough the years. The buildings next to the water are taller and newer, meaning that the recent flow of population is turning into the shore. This can also be translated onto housing politics and economics, where the land nearby the shore is much expensive than the hinterland. 3. In this sense, is possible to use this information to generate changes in the flux of population in the city. This can be produce to reorganize the city density and gnerate interest of development in other parts of the region. ![Mar del Plata City, Buenos Aires, Argentina][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/1414166689512096.jpg
