Gdansk, Poland - Invisible/Visible of natural recreation areas
FC-01x Future Cities (1st Run) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2014-10-14 by BarbaraPiotrowska
Gdansk is a city in the north of Poland, at the coast of Baltic sea. Apart from having a beautiful coastline it has also a forest in the middle of the city, which is actually a group of parks (some of them claimed to be among oldest public parks in Europe). This forest works as a natural green lung for a city but because it is bordered by half of the districts on both east (the left side of the picture) and on the west (part of the city hidden behind the hills on the right) it also works as the main recreation area (along with the coastline parks). The visible is then the presence of this green area and its function as a recreation. INVISIBLE The invisible on the other hand would be the exact number of users, the most common ways the park is used and the most popular areas, as well as the type of walking or riding paths - are they short or long distance. It was quite rainy today, so an image may be a little foggy and dark. Part of the forest on the right side of the picture and the lower side of town on the left. The city has also its upper part on the hills which are surrounding the forest area on the other side. ![*It was quite rainy today, so an image may be a little foggy and dark.
