![enter image description here][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14132965781670747.jpg I live in Bangalore, India in a part of the city called Koramangala. It is located in the south-east of Bangalore. This is a picture of the area around my apartment building. It was taken at 1600 hours. The visible information: In the foreground one can see the slightly narrow roads and sidewalks with houses or other apartment buildings on either side. The houses are quite tightly packed together and nucleated. Almost all of the houses are double-story with balconies but no verandas. There is usually quite a bit of temporary roadside parking. In the central part of the picture the road turns to the right leading to more houses. There are also signs (in both vernacular language and English) to help navigate oneself throughout the neighborhood. Towards the back of the picture one can see the main road. There is also a (auto)rickshaw stand for domestic transport. This area is highly populated. The invisible information: Houses are tightly packed and built upwards because land prices are very high and there is also high demand to live in Koramangala. The area is highly populated because it is self-contained and all of the needs and wants of the people are easily accessible. It is also because this is one of the more modern neighborhoods, and is therefore also a haven for many non-resident Indians. Signs are bilingual for this reason as well. The cars are relatively smaller in size to adapt to narrower roads. I feel that the invisible information can be changed to knowledge to contribute to planning with information on high population. Koramangala is, as i had already mentioned, highly populated, and to plan a more livable urban space, sanitation schemes can be initiated, roads could be expanded for less traffic, eco-friendly energy schemes could be initiated as well. The safety of the neighborhood could be improved on as well.
