This is a photo of Downtown Vancouver, particularly the north part of West End. The background show North Vancouver, and between buildings in the middle of the picture, you can see Stanley Park, a 1,001 acre public park. The area is quite heterogeneous with small individual houses, small buildings and medium towers. The road shape of the city appears through the trees along them. Towers had mainly all balcony, and appartement are turn to the outside with large windows. Two information are invisible. The first is the architectural rule in Vancouver about the view. Actually, all the construction need to allow each inhabitant to have a certain angle view guaranteed. The second is the lack of shops in this area. In fact, there is only one convient store in a area of 5 x 5 blocks, and a concentrate commercial activity on two parallel streets in both side of the area. This last information could contribute to consider to build enough large and high buildings in this area to include on the bottom of them commercial surface.
