This photo was taken from a railway station opposite to the SRM University Main Campus in Chennai. Visible Information 1. We could see that people are crossing the road and also a few vehicles taking U-Turn.Also there is signal post at the crossing. 2. We could also see that it is a busy road. It is because it is a National Highway. Invisible Information What is invisible is that the Traffic signals do not work and also there is no zebra crossing and not even a Traffic Police Officer. Here the use of big data plays a major role because, if the government had known about the student population in the campus which is around 10,000 plus they would have operated the traffic signals and also they would have marked the zebra crossings. Also the number of public buses having stops near the collage are too few and often public buses would be passing the campus being half empty but still they do not stop them.Also the frequency of the trains arriving at the station are also very less even during the peak hours when the college gets over.
