On the left there’s a 4-storey residential building with an atelier of a fashion designer in the ground floor. In front of the building there’s a small fruit and vegetable store. On the other side of the street there’s a group of The Central Police Department buildings. Behind that you can see a 30-storeys Blue Tower Plaza. Invisible information is that the place is located very closely to the city center and just 500 m from a very important interchange for subway, trams and buses. Both streets used to be quite busy during the morning rush hour, but it’s generally a quiet area. This used to be a Jewish quarter before 1939, with a high density tenements. During World War II the Nazis established the Jewish Ghetto in this area, that was entirely destroyed after the uprising in 1943. 10 years after WWII the new urban plans had been developed for this area. The new housing was built and all the signs of the past disappeared. There are many tourists that walk along the streets to the newly opened Museum of the Jewish History, that is just 300 m away. They never stop here. The area, with its location and history, has a great potential for becoming an exciting public space, that attracts both tourists and locals. Revitalization of this area should include many different actions to make people stop here. This could include: developing of a system of information points bringing people closer to the past of the area, creating outside seating zones, eliminating some parking spots, to make the space more pedestrian friendly. This space needs also same atmospheric cafes to become really lively place. [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14161049905344798.jpg
