[1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14133408231725105.jpg This is a photo of Cartagena de Indias downtown. **1.The visible information**: sunny city; historical houses with balconies; the colors and vegetation on the balconies have an important role in the architecture; narrow sidewalk and streets; constant movement of people; business and houses are together. **2.Invisible information:** The city was not planned to promote walk because of its narrow sidewalks; The Cartagena downtown has become a very exclusive and expensive place. increasingly colonial houses are not of native but foreigners. 3.The urban planning of downtown in Cartagena was sufficient during the colonial time. However, in order to have a more compact and pedestrian -friendly city, it is important that the downtown uses and dynamics are defined thinking about the future population needs, preserving the heritage of the city and taking it as a development opportunity rather than an obstacle to it. This involves defining the vocation of the historical center, in some cases restrict entry of vehicles for encourage walks and promote sustainable tourism initiatives that generate income for the native and preserve the heritage.
