This square is one of the most popular of the city. It is located in the heart of Athens, at the point where the historical center meets the rest of city's urban space. The visible information (which are not all obvious at the photo)are: - the square is a meeting point for to young people and tourists - the access the square by all public transport (metro, train, bus) - high traffic - homeless people, garbage - closed stores, illegal street vendors The square is a famous meeting point due to its location which is very central and close to archaeological sites, but also has commercial uses and nightlife. Because of that the square is busy all day and night. Around the square there is too much traffic caused by cars especially during nightime. That is because the public transportation -apart from a couple of bus lines- stop working around midnight until the next morning. So, all the people who come here for the night life are forced to bring their car and there are also taxis point badly placed which make the traffic worse. What should be done, in order to improve the car traffic conditions and the passengers' circulation, is the rearrangement of the schedule of the means of transport that serve such a highly touristic square, a better placement of the taxi point and the creation of parking spaces- if not the closing of the historic center to car traffic, which would be ideal.
