This is a view of **Calle Larios**. main street of Historic District. Designed and built in 1891 as an urban renewal project in the old town, and in order to improve hygiene. It was pedestriannized 12 years ago and is the main shopping street in the center. On Christmas days, special lighting is installed. As "**invisible information**", point out, first, that despite originally being a predominantly residential area, currently only **71 peopl**e living in the street; the rest was converted into offices and shops. Second, signal the **noise** that exists in the street, as in many other streets in the old town. It is the result of extensive use made of that neighborhood by the entertainment industry and tourism. No noise regulations are met, reaching a daytime average **level of 85 dB, 75 dB and night**, approximately. It is one of the factors, along with speculation, and lack of public facilities, which are causing the **depopulation of the distric**t, estimated at 40% in the last 30 years. Information also point to invisible **economic cost** of lighting, estimated at 500,000 €, and **energy consumption** that produces the Christmas lights, which provides information not publicly City Hall. Data collection of noise is most easily translatable into k**nowledge**. Proper measurement and monitoring of noise pollution as well as noise mapping helps **to improve the quality of life** of the environment and to inform the public of possible problems when **choosing their place of residence**.
