To the North it has the International Border with the United States, and to the West it has the Ocean Pacific, so there are only two directions where the City can grow: South and East. Tijuana is a city of migrants, with some people trying to cross to the United States, but a lot of them stay to live in Tijuana and don’t return to their City or Country of origin, this produces a rapid growth in population and has the consequence that the urban area expands very quickly because it can only grow to the South and East. Two invisible information: 1. Flat City: Although the city expands very fast, some developers are still building horizontal housing, causing that the new housing projects to be further away from the main services and parks of the city. 2. Poor transportation services: Because the urban area expands more quickly than the services that the City can provide, poor transportation causes more cars to drive longer distances. How it can become knowledge to produce planning: Transportation services, measure the time it takes people to travel in their cars to schools, work areas and commercial areas, also consider that a lot people don’t have a car. It will not be a surprise that the study will yield results in recommending densifications of housing in some parts of city, and of course, better transportation systems.
