(1) Based on this, there are three important stocks and flows in the city: 1. People in transit looking for US Visas and immigrants going to the borderline. (Including people from nearby cities too where there are not american consulate) 2. Foreign students. 3. Industry infrastructure and corporations. (2) Findings based on the concept of stocks and flows: Economic activities in the areas near to the US consulate are based on activities related to managing the paperwork of visas (hotels, motels, copies, lawyers, etc.). The urban area around this activity is degraded, because the space is not suitable for the volume of people coming daily. The majority of people seeking for visas have a low socioeconomic level, unfortunately have no culture of preservation of public space and throw garbage on the street all day. There is lots of noise. At the end of the day, when activities end, the area is isolate, dirty and insecure. Now there is a new building in a less accesible area by public transportation, all the current activities will be affected by the new place. ![builging around US consulate][1] Foreign students push the creation of student neighborhoods and bring lots of money to the city paying the universities fees and all the services they need. Once the finish their careers they leave the city. Previously industrial infrastructure were out of the city limits, now these areas are part of the formal city, becoming obsolete and not healthy inside the urban fabric. (3) How these stocks and flows could change in the future for the benefit of your area: Economic activities near of the current US consulate must change to adapt its services to new users. It is important to make people aware of the garbage at the city. Now companies, citizens and institutions around can enjoy a quieter neighborhood and less messy but the new consulate must design public spaces for all the people that they are receiving during the day and be part of the solution to aware people about preserve the city. Foreign students can be part of startup projects to support them in the entrepreneurship way helping them to start a professional life in the city. Industrial infrastructure can be profited to design urban parks and public buildings and spaces as the case of Parque Fundidora. ![Parque Fundidora][2] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14156607577787869.jpg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14156605049515469.jpg
