Nodes:monuments Edges: tourists State: staying Seville downtown is crowded of historical monuments and there are three monuments declared heritage of humanity within a fifty meters radius: the gothic cathedral, the Royal Castle and the “Archivo de Indias”, a XV century building where the American trade was controlled. These monuments work as nodes (they are static) that attract flows of tourist from long time ago. The whole area became totally pedestrian in 2007, which enabled the increase of the commercial and hotel activities and restaurant business and reinforced the tourist flow, that remains stable till now despite the crisis. Although the tourist flow is continuous, there is a high seasonal component as the flow is widened from spring to autumn and Christmas time. ![enter image description here][1] City area: “Virgen del Rocio” Hospital Nodes:Parking places along the streets Edges: Health workers, patients and visitors’ cars State: leaving “Virgen del Rocío” Hospital is one of the most important health site in Seville and it receives a great amount of people every day. The neighbourhood where is located counts with parking places along the streets, that are nodes (as they are static) that attract a flow of people (health workers, patients and visitors) travelling by car. In 2013 the local government decided to transform the free street parking places to not free and time-limited. This action has reduced the flow of workers’ cars, that have preferred to use alternative transport modes. To ensure that the flow is really leaving it must be taken into consideration the increase of visitors’ cars, that use the street parking places no more than two hours. ![enter image description here][2] City area: Roofs Nodes:Telephony transmitting towers Edges: Data lines State: entering The telephony transmitting towers are located on the building roofs along the city. They can be considered as nodes because their numbers are limited by local regulations and remain static from a time ago. But although the number of towers on the roofs is static, the flow of information through the data lines has increased exponentially. It is unknown whether this flow will keep growing at the same rate or achieve a stable level; the development of technology and the consumption of information will set the trend. ![enter image description here][3] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14157284304530629.jpg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14157285401443291.jpg [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/1415728652570036.jpg
