![modern sculpture by the sea][1] 1. the population/population density(1.100.000,7080 people/km^2). 2. the students. 3. rice production (70%-80% of Greece production) 4. the port. 5. buildings. The population is caused by the intense urbanization(e.g before 50 years the population was 250.000). It also has quite big population density 7080 people/km^2. What is worth mentioning is that Thessaloniki has also 130.000 students which creates a very interesting stock-flow of people knowledge culture and money. In addition the port is one of the main ports in Balkan with increased significance. Finally as you can imagine due to the big population density and the fast increase of the population in Thessaloniki exists a very big stock of building materials. Some possible outcomes for these stocks and flows that would be very helpfull for Thessaloniki are: - The expansion and modernization of the port. - The better exploitation of its student population. - The recycle of all that building material and decentralization at some degree.
