It is possible to imagine the increase of the role of water as a stock of electricity. In the italian part of the Alps, the electricity produced in the Alps is propriety of the State and it means that the territory has no benefit of it in terms of incomes. At the opposite, in the swiss Alps every municipality is the owner: For example the municipality of Bregaglia sells its electricity to Zürich, and even if is an isolated valley its inhabitants can live with good salaries. The flows of stones and wood can be managed to help the preservation of the territory in terms of prevention against geological instability and defence of biodiversity.
