The power supply requirement for Delhi at peak time is 6100 MW while availability is 5728 MW leaving a deficit of 6.1%. Delhi water supply requirement estimated for 2021 is 5259 MGD. It was a meagre 650 MGD in 2006 but this was augmented by 350MGD of Ganga water from Tehri Dam to Sonia Viha water plant . The Sewage generated is treated through STP's and CEPT's. The sewage treatment capacity is 512.40 MGD. The continuous flow of migrants from surrounding states to Delhi has lead to a situation of homelessness and squatting. Almost 45% population lives in unplanned settlements.
