**1. Monuments and cultural heritage** **2. Tourists** **3. Business: Innovation and creativity** I choose these 3 elements as I think these are the increase the additional value of Barcelona, which is doing the city something special in Spain and Europe. **Monuments and cultural heritage** Monuments and cultural heritage in general are an important stock of Barcelona. They are not only elements that make part of our culture and consequently influence our character, but also are actives that make special the city, making it different. It is an important stock as not only generate directly a lot of work places, but also indirectly, as other sectors related with the tourism are beneficiated. Cultural heritage can also be considered as a flow, since new events and cultural agendas are constantly changing the city cultural capital. For example in Barcelona, the Modernism of the XIX, with different buildings and monuments (mainly the ones built by Antoni GaudÃ) have been the mainly touristic attractive of Barcelona, but then the Olympic Games of 1992 increased the touristic potential of Barcelona. **Tourists** The tourists are an important flow for Barcelona. They are a motivation to improve the services that already exist and to create new ones. A huge number of tourists visit the city all the year, and it is really evident how the city is changing accordingly with that. He tourist bus lines have increased, more bars and hotels have been inaugurated, and the number of concerts and other shows has been increased. Many tourists decide to come back to Barcelona and live here, becoming a part of the foreigners that live in the city increasing its cosmopolite. **Business: Innovation and creativity** Barcelona has also increased in the last years its capability to attract companies and professionals around the world, being considered a capital for creativity and innovation. Several companies decide to establish in Barcelona or in the surroundings their European Headquarter. Making easy the location of international companies, more and more companies are coming to Barcelona, so the stock of innovation and business can constantly grow or decrease. All this effort to be attractive in business point of view has been awarded in March 2014, becoming the first European Capital of Innovation. All the 3 elements that I took in consideration are actually reinforcing each other in a virtuous circle. More innovation and prosperity allows the city to offer better life condition and services, the city becomes more attractive so people around the world come to visit the city that already had a rich cultural heritage and works to offer every day more and more. The attached picture describes the 3 aspects considered: You can see the tourist that enjoy the beach and the sun, 2 towers created for the Olympic games in 1992 and in the background the new business area in Barcelona 22@. ![enter image description here][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14173677236784142.jpg
