Suburban area outside of Mexico city. I. Provisioning services There are nearby food sources such as forests with fruits and other edible plants. These forests also provide raw resources such as wood, soil, etc. ![Forests near atizapan][1] II. Regulating services As I had proved in previous exercises, my town has several regulating services because of the vast green areas that surround it. For starters, we have less of a heat island effect than in Mexico City (usually 2-3 CÂș less). The air is cleaner. The forests also contribute to the carbon sequestration and storage. As a final remark, there is also a moderation of extreme events. Although there is more rain in my town than in Mexico City there are almost no landslides nor floods. ![Forests][2] III. Habitat or Supporting services My town also has a habitat for species. We have a protected park where there are wild animals such as deer, birds and other small mammals that can live and reproduce freely. ![Parque de los ciervos][3] IV. Cultural services The protected park attracts a little bit of tourism but also serves the purpose of recreation and mental and physical health. People can go to the park to do run, do sports, admire nature, or just relax. There are some golf parks as well, which serve a recreational purpose. ![Golf][4] [1]: http://www.quickly.com.mx/Estado-de-Mexico/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/aereopuerto1.jpg [2]: http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/16695443.jpg [3]: http://viajetips.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/ciervo.jpg [4]: http://www.igolf.mx/archivos/noticias/1_1358374203.92.jpg
