Most of the fresh water used in the city, comes from the ‘Mintzita’ spring, which is located 7.5km southwest of Morelia. ![Mintzita Spring][1] **Regulating Services** Within the urban area of Morelia, there are five main green lungs: 1- ‘Punhuato’ Eco Park; 2- ‘Santa Maria’s Bank’ Natural Reserve; 3- ‘Cuautehmoc’ Park; 4- ‘Benito Juarez’ Zoo; 5- Planetarium Park. These green lungs help in the regulation of both local climate and air quality, and carbon sequestration and storage. ![Morelia Urban Area][2] **Habitat or Supporting Services** While the previous five green lungs have great diversity of animal and plant species, the first two are the richest in that matter. Morelia is the home of 62 species of birds, 96 mammals, 20 reptiles and 9 amphibians. **Cultural Services** All of those five green areas have great recreational value, but there are some areas in the outskirts of the city that are suitable for eco tourism, such as: 1- ‘Morelos’ National Park, 2- ‘Cointzio’ Dam, 3- ‘La Joya’ Cave, 4- ‘Cañon’ Ravine, 5- ‘Atecuaro’ Boulder, 6- ‘La Escalera’ Grotto, 7- ‘Jesus del Monte’ Forest, 8- ‘Umecuaro’ Dam. All of those sites are whitin a 20 minutes or less drive from downtown Morelia. ![Morelia Tourism][3] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14594518805259612.jpg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14594521386660806.jpg [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14594534268176864.jpg
