Arequipa has several energy outputs from ecosystems. For example: Food, That is managed agro-ecosystems. Erosion prevention and maintenance of soil fertility: For regulating the quality of air and soil or by providing flood and disease control. The city is provided by a large vegetation zone around the Chili river. Local climate and air quality and Carbon sequestration and storage: Biodiversity also plays an important role by improving the capacity of ecosystems to adapt to the effects of climate change. ![Arequipa][3] ![Chili River][4] c. Habitat or Supporting services Habitats for species: In the surrounding areas there are many species that are protected. The national reserve of "Salinas y Aguada Blanca" protect species like Vicuñas, Llamas, Parihuanas and foxes. For cultural services, Arequipa is a city which live from tourism.
