1 Provisioning services 1.1 Food The orchard in zone 1 (on green in the picture) and the vineyard in zone 2 provide more food than necessary for the town itself. It thus allows exportation and substantial economic activities. If these 2 zones are ecosystem with anthropogenic compound their services are important. Zones 2, with its wall in raw stone are an important recreational area (even toursim). Notwithstanding, these zones are in some way polluted by agricultural operations (a minimal set of farmers turn into bio. 1.2 Raw materials In front and on the mountain slopes in the back (dark area), the forest give to the area a large volume of raw material for building (with the remaining used as fuel). Zone 4 give boulder for building, creating fresh water pounds giving a certain diversification of the habitat. 2 Regulating services 2.1 Local climate and air quality The zones 1 & 2 regulate the air in the surrounding of the urban area allowing probably a certain cooling affect. It should be said that in spring, during the beginning of the flowering season zone 1 play a negative effect on the local air quality, as farmer try to heat the field avoiding frost. 2.2 Moderation of extreme events Zone 3 &4 are green area (but not natural, respectively a quarry and the golf) where the Rhone river may overflow. In these area infiltration and water retention is possible. 2.3 Erosion prevention and maintenance of soil fertility Collection of leaves may be used for green, manure, several field of the zone 1 are managed as agroforestry, giving hay (for winter or for green manure) and direct feeding for muttons. 3 Habitat or supporting services 3.1 Habitats for species In addition to zone 4 (see § 1.2) the zone 5 is dedicated to the cultural heritage, which in turn protect the fauna and flora in this small hill.
