Ecosystem Services I'll take the example of Dijla (Tigers) river in the city of Baghdad and the river bank called (Abu-Nua'as) which is close to my house as an example of Ecosystem Services near my area. 1- Provision Services Dijla river in my city plays a role in food provision through fishing. Due to the lack of water, pollution overfishing and the use of new methods for larger fish provision such as fish breeding ponds, ordinary fishing does play an important role as it used to be. ![Fishing in Tigris river][1] 2- Regulating Services The area of Abu-Nua'as plays a vital rule in my area through the dense forestation as it plays an important rule in improving air quality through shading, removing pollutants, Carbon sequestration and storage, preventing erosion by the river and many more. ![Abu-Nua'as Forestation][2] 3- Habitat or supporting Services Both the river and the river bank areas are great habitats for different species as they provide great shelter for birds, fish ...etc. The reeds on some parts of the river bank and the river plays an important role. ![Reeds and Birds][3] 4- Cultural Services The area is great for recreation, mental and physical health. Abu-Nua'as is a green space for people to relax and go picnicking.
