La Mica Lagoon: It is a reservoir that collects water from the Antisana Volcano and then distributes to three water plants of the city of Quito. It has a capacity of 1650 liters per second (Public Metropolitan Company of Potable Water and Sanitation). ![La Mica Lagoon - Antisana Reserve][1] **b. Regulating services** Guangüiltagua Metropolitan Park: Located in the eastern slope of the city, it shelters a dry / wet mountain forest (mainly eucalyptus). Its area amounts for 560 ha (DMQ Protected Areas, 2012) Thanks to the trees and the location within the city the quality of air can be improved and carbon emission sequestered and stored. ![Metropolitan Park Guangüiltagua - View to east valley Cumbayá][2] **c. Habitat or Supporting services** Mindo Nambillo Forest: Located 80 km in the north western of Quito, is a 19,000 ha cloud forest that shelters 500 bird species, 90 butterfly species, 170 orchid species, many bromelias, heliconias, ferns, among others (Mindo, 2016). ![Mindo Nambillo cloud forest][3] ![Mindo Nambillo - small river][4] ![Mindo Nambillo - bird][5] **d. Cultural services** Pichincha Volcano / Cruz Loma Hill: It is located in the east side of Pichincha Volcano and serves as a lookout of the city. People can easily reach Cruz Loma by TelefériQo gondola lifts which travel 2237 linear metres upwards to a height of 3,945 m (12,943 ft) (TelefériQo, 2016).
