1. Which are your top livability criteria? 1 Economy 2 Political stability 3 Culture 4 Housing 5 Health care 2. Why do we live where we live? Singapore. I was born in Singapore, educated here and works here. I also have my family and relatives, friends here. Rank in order of importance: citizenship, family, jobs, education and easy communication. 3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria? Criteria/ Scale (1-100) Economy/60 Political stability/50 Culture/40 Housing/70 Health care/65 General/60 4. What would you change? Sustainability is my main concern. I give low scores for selected criteria (economy, politics, culture) because Singapore faces sustainable issues in these areas. It is a controlled society. If I were the mayor, I will relax the control, free the press and open up the economy. Singapore economy, media, parliament are highly controlled by the government. If you look at the Stock Exchange of Singapore, more than 60-70% market capitalization is owned by government related companies. And Singapore is famous for her one-party rule. These short-term measures of the past have helped Singapore progress, but how far can they go? Affordable housing and health care are also sustainable problems. We have citizens prefer ‘die than sick’ and some move to stay outside Singapore for cheaper housing. 5. Why do we move? 1 Auckland, New Zealand 2 Sydney, Australia 3 Vancouver, Canada Top 5 quality criteria: 1 Political stability (including freedom, human rights, free press) 2 Culture 3 Housing 4 Health care 5 Economy ![][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14565716848649031.jpg
