1. Safety 2. Education 3. Health care 4. Job opportunities 5. Environment 2. Why do we live where we live? I have been born and raised in Lodz, the city located in the centre of Poland. Here is where i study and live right now. I will now try to point out the main reasons why i live here; a) Safety - in my case it does consider two aspects at the same time. I do feel safe in the area because of the medium size of it and general ambience among the citizens, but also due to the fact, that I am aware of the family and friends who live also here and help me in case of a hardship of any kind b) Transportation - whenever i want to use bus, train, bicycle, car or take a walk, the city provides me the conditions to do so. c) Education - I am a student so education is an everyday part of my life, the main one i would say. The city is often called here in Poland an “academic city” becasue of the educational various possibilities as well as dormitories next to universities. For couple of years, the best architectural or design oriented building or areas have occured to be contected with the educational investments. in fact, a photo included in the post, depicts the view form the faculty of architecture on which i’m studying. d) Community - Not from the beginning, but definitey for couple of years, citizens of lodz strive for creating a sense of a place as well as a strong bond connecting the habitancy here. The city is starting to be quite community oriented, organizes many culture events , festivals and lectures, helping people with similar interests find each other and exchange some veiws or just simply have fun, enjoy the moment. e) Governance - Lodz is a lucky city since 4 years ago the president of it has been elected and relected. Every part of the city is beging to thrive - from street furniture and woonerfs, to economy situation and general attractiveness and popularity. ![][1] 3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria? General Livability in Lodz : Safety- 70 Education- 80 Health care - 65 Job opportunities - 70 Environment - 70 Summarize- Lodz’s rank of Livability in my opinion is - 71 4. What would you change? Lodz is a relativey new city, it doesn’t have a typical “old town” area and that’s the reason why now we tend to make this city more and more horizontally broad wile seeming not ot notice the areas inside of the city centre which not all are occupied yet. Our city has plenty parts in the central districts without clear purpose and visual appearance. We should focus on them, not run away and add outskirts into the city again ang again. 5. Why do we move? a) Lyon, France - environment, culture, transportation, recreational possibiities, international connectivity b) Copenhagen, Denmark - culture, community-orientation, safety, transportation, job opportunities c) Munich, Germany- eductaion, culture, safety, job opportunitues, environment [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14567927161797204.png
