When Lucio Costa, the original planner of Brasilia, came back to the city at the 80’s he was very surprised. The central area which he planned to be a parisian-like boulevard was already taken by the population, with fairs and live music and all the latino mess. It made him realize that what happenned to his design was a real “storming of the Bastille” as he affirmed later on. In order to become a more inclusive city i think that’s exactly the process Brasilia needs to emerge on. ![Occupation of the Rodoviary Axis on Sundays][1] ![Fairs and shows at the Esplanada][2] ![Protest against corruption on the Congress (2013)][3] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14605564366311876.jpg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14605564719408092.jpg [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14605564936469379.jpg
