The dominant fossil fuels used in my country are oil (110.1 out of 327.7 Mtoe) and biofuels (82.9 out of 327.7 Mtoe). Hydro, natural gas, coal and nuclear products are some of the minor fuels used in Brazil. 2. The dominant fossil fuels in my country are mainly used for transport (83.3 out of 228.3 Mtoe) and industry (82.4 out of 228.3 Mtoe). 3. Brazil is a country that offers various opportunities when it comes to energy production. However, these opportunities are not always explored to their full potential. For this reason, Brazil still depends on a lot of fuels such as oil, which is non-renewable. Brazil presents many characteristics that are favorable to the production of clean energy. In the Northeastern region, for example, winds are very strong and the areas are very vast and unpopulated. These conditions are perfect for the installment of wind power plants without polluting the environment. In addition, temperatures and sun exposure are very high in most areas of Brazil, especially in the Middle-Western region. That way, investments in solar energy plants should be taken into consideration. These show that Brazil has potential to produce and use much more clean energy than it does. ![Scheme of possible clean energy plants in Brazil][1] In Brazil, energy consumption is very high, and people do not always take efforts to minimize their energy uses, especially in the densely populated metropolises. Transport and industry are the major consumers of energy. By investing in new technologies that require low energy, following the example of institutes such as ETH campus in Honggerberg (which found a way to minimize the energy necessary to cool and heat the place), and promoting governmental campaigns on Brazil’s energy use, my country will probably be motivated to reduce its own consumption.
