![sankey for ph][1] 1. Coal production and imports with 12.47 Mtoe 2. Oil production and imports with 8.43 Mtoe 3. Geothermal production having 8.26 Mtoe 4. Biowaste product and import, 8.15 Mtoe 5. Gas production with 2.90 Mtoe 6. Hydro production, 0.86 Mtoe; and lastly, 7. Solar, tide or wind having 0.01 Mtoe **2. Where are the dominant fossil fuels mainly used for your country?** ![transportation][2] In Philippines, the dominant fossil fuels which are the oil production and import are mainly used for transportation-- with having 8.45 Mtoe or 96 percent oil and oil products. Other fossil fuels used for transportation are biofuels and waste (0.31 Mtoe) and electricity (0.01 Mtoe) of which are total to the other 4 percent for the transportation usage. ![others][3] Next to transportation, topping the usage for fossil fuels is the category of Other uses; which pertains to other industries such as the public works, infrastructures and private sectors that has a total of 9.83 Mtoe. From this data, 42 percent that contributes to this number is the usage of biofuels and waste having 4.13 Mtoe. 36 percent is from the 3.51 Mtoe contribution of electricity fossil fuels and lastly, the 22 percent of this category coming from oil products with 2.19 Mtoe. Ranking up to these two is the industry; having 6.89 Mtoe usage from the fossil fuels (coal, electricity, biofuels and waste, oil products and natural gas) in the country and the non-energy use of 0.31 Mtoe which only uses oil products as its fuel. **3. It is your task to create a new policy in order to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of your country. How would you do that?** Since our country is pretty much rich in natural resources, in my opinion, it would be best if we could utilize these resources with regards on where they are situated. As for example, there is a part of our country that has rich source of water; and parts of their area use this as their alternative to using of oil and electricity which has dominant usage in the country. There are also regions that use the geothermal power plant where there is volcanos near their places-- this alternative also have cheaper consumption and expense to the people. There are so many ways in our country that fossil fuel may be provided without having to import such; people prefer on what they think is safe for now but not knowing it is harmful later.
