According to 2013 Sankey diagram, the dominant fossil fuels used in Indonesia are Oil (40.91% out of the Total Final Consumption) and Biowaste (33.37% out of the Total Final Consumption). Most of these two fossil fuels are coming from their local natural resources. 2 . Where are the dominant fossil fuels mainly used for in your country? According to 2013 Sankey diagram, 69% Oil out of 65.60 Mtoe are used for transportation. Meanwhile 83% Biowaste out of 56.20 Mtoe are used for others. 3 . It is your task to create a new policy in order to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of your country. How would you do that? Think of how you can improve the sources and the consumption of energy. ![Indonesia Mtoe Balance (2003)][1] ![Indonesia Mtoe Balance (2013)][2] Having analyzed Sankey diagram from year 2003 to 2013, I found an interesting discovery about the local coal production. The total coal production has been drastically increased 319% from year 2003 to 2013. In 2003, 77% Coal out of 67 Mtoe has been exported, the rest 23% went to power station and industry. In 2013, 89% Coal out of 281.10 Mtoe has been exported, 11% went to power station and industry. This means there has been 383% increased in export demand. World’s coal consumption is indeed inevitable. I believe saving coal consumption is not one country’s responsibility. The whole world must act together, starts from the easy/daily life such as; switch off the lights, aircon, television and other electrical appliances when not needed, use energy efficient electrical appliances, bicycles should be used for covering short distances to save precious fuel like petrol, public transport system (local bus and train service) in the cities should be improved so that people do not commute in their personal vehicles, etc. ![World's Coal Consumption][3] ![Coal Exporters][4] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14581119538060243.jpeg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14581119877370252.jpeg [3]: http://www.msucommunitydevelopment.org/macdep/img/dec10/CoalConsumption.jpg [4]: http://static5.businessinsider.com/image/4c3b03457f8b9a6420c90000/china-coal.gif
