Public transportation (route 02) can be less stressful than driving in congested city traffic, and produce less pollution. But it takes at least 45 min to commute by route 02. As an alternative transportation model, my University is attempting to promote people to carpool by route 01. Carpooling can reduce traffic, air pollution, and other negative side effects of solo automobile travel. In addition, carpooling and ridesharing reduce fuel costs and can lead to community building and social networking.
