I usually use a car to get to work even though it's 4 minutes longer and 3.9 km farther, according to Google map. Traffic and pollution are really bad in Jakarta. I love using public transportation when possible, especially when I am in Singapore. MRT and buses are very convenient. However, travelling in Jakarta using public transportation is a battle in itself. Despite the shorter distance and the shorter travel time, I was experiencing a lot of other discomfort such as overcrowded bus, air pollution, and sweat from walking in the heat of a tropical country. By the time I got to work, I was already drenched in sweat, smelly from pollution, and felt exhausted.
