1. The No. 11 Bus 2. The Green Line LUAS (TRAM) 3. My own car ## ROUTE MAP OF JOURNEYS ## ![Travel Chart for routes from SandYford to Dublin City Centre][1] ## BREAKDOWN OF INFORMATION ON ROUTES 1-3## ![ROUTE DESCRIPTIONS for SANDYFORD to DUBLIN CITY CENTER][2] I have also added a cost analysis that threw up a surprising result in that the slowest and longest taking mode of transport was the BUS and was also the most expensive (if parking were not to be included with reference to the car) of the three. It would also be The most likely to be affected by traffic congestion ( as would the car). And it also required the greatest amount of travel by foot. It can also be very cramped, very dirty and rather unreliable due to Dublin's rush hour traffic congestion ( currently listed as 9th worst in the world ahead of Beijing and LA!) The Car was the cheapest if parking were not to be included which I feel it should be as the likely hood of going to the city centre just to turn around and go straight back home without stopping would be highly irregular). If Parking were included then the cost of taking the car to the city center would be prohibitive and greatly increased the longer you spent in the city. It is also likely to be affected by ( if not contributing to ) traffic congestion. The main benefit would be having the comfort of your own space and the least exposure to the outdoors during adverse weather conditions. The Tram is by far the best value as it inevitably turned out to be the cheapest, most reliable, least affected by traffic congestion. It is also the cleanest and least congested of the public transport solutions available.
