![Route 1][2] **Route 1: Bicycle** I always go by bike to go to the library. It is the quickest option. Also, I don’t have to walk (just outside of my building and into the next one), which gives me the feeling that the commute goes faster. I take a street made for bicycles only, which makes the trip fairly careless and also faster (no traffic lights). I like to cycle, because you can dream away a little and do some people watching. Generally it is a nice route and you feel happy to be active and outside. Only on the way back, when everything is uphill and when it’s windy and rainy, you sometimes wish you could go by car. ![Route 2][3] **Route 2: Walking** If the weather is good and I don’t need to pick something up at the supermarket on my way there or back, it is nice to walk. I would only do that when I wouldn’t be in a hurry, because it takes about 15 minutes longer. When walking, I like to go through the city centre, having some shops to look at and other people in the streets. It’s livelier and is nice to look at, thus makes it more fun. Going around the city centre would mean harbour view, but nevertheless a lot of traffic. So, walking is great, but I would rather do that when I’m up for a nice walk instead of as a good means of getting from a to b. ![Route 3][4] **Route 3: Car** The car is the second-quickest option. For this short distance however, I wouldn’t consider going by car. There’s no need to pollute the environment for a distance that you can technically even do by foot. In the morning there is a possibility that you get stuck in traffic, plus, where are you going to park your car? If I want to park my car beneath the library, I have to pay a lot of money. I would have to park somewhere further away, which would make me have to walk relatively far. Driving alone is not that much fun, maybe when someone would drop me off at the library on his way to work, I would appreciate it. The annoyance of having to pay or walk a long way from a free parking spot, would make me feel fairly unhappy. ![Route 4][5] **Route 4: Bus** Although this option would be faster than going by foot all the way, it seems like too much hassle for me to undertake for a distance of only 1800 meters. I would consider a bus when it’s raining, but still you’d have to do 1100 meters on foot. That doesn’t seem worth it. Also, it costs money, which I’d rather spend on one of the other expensive things in Denmark. Going by bus also means getting stuck in traffic, in case you want to be at the library between 8 and 9am. Another point that comes to mind is that I prefer as little temperature change moment per day as possible. Going into a warm bus from a rainy and cold outside world and having to go back out there again, is not ideal. My overall happiness would probably not be optimal, having to deal with the temperature changes and also the possibility that you might miss the bus.
