Sometimes a part of the production of energy goes to the export of a country. Exported energy won't be consumed by your country itself). ANS: In my country: Canada, Most Dominant fossil fuels are Oil Products and Natural Gas. Most of Production goes to Exports to United States of America. Major portion of them are exported for both Oil and Natural Gas. Even Less than 50% of it, is consumed within Canada itself. Q2. Where are the dominant fossil fuels mainly used for in your country? (e.g. transport, industry, non-energy use etc.) ANS: The Dominant fossil fuels are mainly being used for Transport sector and industrial sector. A portion from Natural Gas is used for Energy (Heat Source) in other sectors (Residential, Commerce Public services, Agriculture /Forestry) Q3. It is your task to create a new policy in order to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of your country. How would you do that? Think of how you can improve the sources and the consumption of energy. ANS 1. First thing, is the use of Renewable sources for Transportation Sector and Industry Sector a. For Transportation: Govt. should mandate to use Electric powered Vehicle. BEV’s and even Hybrid will help initially. And there should be a promotional offers for EVs use, rebates, road priority, parking priority and much more tax benefits And should work on solar-powered charging stations, so that electricity production can be from renewable resources. b. For Industry: A policy mandate to be self-powered / is-landed Micro / Nano Grid operation Next is to use conservation programs to optimize the power flow and And last is to balance the generation and consumption with DR programs, Run the industry in shifts. Promote running of high consuming industry, during night hours. 2. Promote and create Smart Grid Fund projects. Brings motivation for Innovation in Renewable’s. Bring policy directive for commercial , residential, industrial and hence transport sector 3. Set targets for National level (federal), provincial, city level, region level, area wise, institution level, commercial spaces level.
