One study reported that annual mean air temperature in Saudi Arabia increased at an average rate of 0.60°C decade over the period 1978–2009. Another study found evidence of the UHI in Riyadh city when examining air temperature trends at four stations in Saudi Arabia and proposed that the observed increase in annual mean temperature in Riyadh city was likely due to the UHI effect. One of the main reasons to higher heat in the city is to much pavement with many wide street and less green areas that make the radiation more. and because most buildings are low height there isn't much shade on the streets. 3. Which are the measures you would propose? Redesign street and make it more complete with wider walk sides , green areas, sitting area, more landscaping and lanes for public transportation.Also allow to build for more than three stories which will add more shading. 4.
