People sunbathing, Stortorget, Lund, Sweden ![Stortorget "The Big Square" Lund, Sweden][1] With the ground and the facades to the left being exposed to the sun a big part of the day surface urban heat island effects should be high. Fields in fallow, Stora Råby, Lund ![Fields, Stora Råby, Lund][2] This picture is typical for the rural surroundings of Lund, 100 % cultivated. Being flat, the surroundings are exposed to the sun all day but also to the wind. 3) In a decision making process aimed on reducing UHI effects i would propose introducing more greenery, not only green walls and roofs but also in between buildings. The reason is that it not only reduces the temperature but also provides a better habitat for both humans an urban wildlife. Also, I think the effects are big compared to the effort and cost that have to be put in to accomplish them. 4) The UHI effect don't affect policy making in Lund.
