I live in Itauna-MG/ Brazil. It is small city, but growing fast. The UHI effect in downtown is increasingly here. The main consequence is the volumn of vehicles and their pollution that increase the UHI effect. There is a small river through the city with a few green areas helping us to get a fresh air. There are some rural area in Itauna, but I choose one that call "Angu Seco". This area has a lot of green area and a small river. ![Downtown][1] ![Rural Area][2] 3. Which are the measures you would propose? Green areas help reduce the impacts of UHI, so the government should implement a green areas project in the city and protect the surrounding green areas. 4. Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area? I think the main problem in my city is not the UHI effect, so it's not the priority. However, all the new constructions and square are provides of gree areas.
