Done :) 2. Which are the main UHI effects that you can identify in your area? I found some paper about UHI in poznań, where I live. The measurements were performed in the city center and in areas with high housing estates. Those measurements were compared with the data from point located in rural area, west of the city centre. the average temperature in the city center was higher by 0.74°C than in the rural areas. The maximum temperature difference was 6.13°C. High UHI intensity (>3°C) occurs most often between 9 pm and 3 am, mainly in the city center. The UHI situations are more seldom and less intensive with increasing distance from the city center. The highest temperature differences between the city and the rural areas were measured in summer and spring, the smallest ones in winter. Poznań isn’t a big city, we also don’t have a lot of industry, instead there is a lot of trees. But still the UHI is noticeable. Especially in post-communism areas with high, concrete buildings ![poznan settelment][1] ![poznan rural][2] ![poznan city][3] 3. Which are the measures you would propose? I think, that the best option to reduce UHI effect is to create more parks and squares with trees, reduce traffic and parking places in the city. And maybe in long term perspective- reduce amount of concrete settlements. 4. Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area? Unfortunately new government of Poland shuts down the department responsible for reduce UHI effect in all cities. I find it as a really bad decision… [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14619188536455429.jpg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14619188761029315.jpg [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14619188949909419.jpg
