Measured UHI effect in Belgrade is moderate compared to other, bigger cities. The city still has lots of green areas, parks and rivers near city center. It is the capitol of Serbia with population of 1,700.000 people. Two large rivers and hilly terrain with frequent winds reduce pollution. ![Annual climate data for Belgrade][1] Based on the 22 measuring stations across Serbia, Belgrade has a significantly higher air temperature then it’s surrounding region (around 1.1°C) and significantly contributes to the increase in mean annual air temperature in the region (around 0.14°C). ![Belgrade from air][2] Belgrade pictured from airplane landing (Wikimedia/free to share) ![Belgrade downtown][3] Belgrade downtown ![Belgrade surroundings][4] Belgrade surroundings. **3.
