Istanbul is the largest city of turkey with population well over 7 millions. Figure 1 shows the population of Istanbul from 1927 to 199. the City's population increased exponentially at the beginning of the 80s. One-fifth of the population and 70% of industry of turkey are located in Istanbul. the city , focal point connecting East and West since ancient times, is divided into two parts. Settlement is spread out in South-North direction along shores of Bosphorus, but mostly in East-West direction along Marmara seahore production a dense urban strip. the climate of Istanbul is characterized by a transition from Mediterranean to the Black Sea type, with mild and rainy winters and warm summers. studying urbanization effects in Istanbul is quite a difficult task due to the effects.![1][1] ![2][2] **3.
