Cordoba is the second largest city of my country. Its population is about 1.5 million. Its a very wide city, with no skycrappers but obviously with a dowtown built in height. The main UHI effect i found are: LACK OF VEGETATION: The dowtown doesnt have lots of big open places. PAVEMENT AND ASPHALT. ASI MENTIONED BEFORE, THE FACT THAT ITS A WIDE CITY DOESNT INVITE CITIZENS TO USE BIKES OR GO TO THEIR WORK WALKING. DRY WINTER. From june to august we´ve got luckily 2 rains. ![Cordoba city][1] THE CITY IS SURROUNDED BY NEIGHBOURHOODS THAT BECAME WITH THE TIME INTO SMALL CITIES WITH THEIR OWN ADMINISTRATION. THESE LOCATIONS SUCH AS VILLA ALLENDE, HAVE BENEFITS AS: WIND CIRCULATION, LOW DENSITY OF INHABITANTS ETC. ![VILLA ALLENDE][2] 3. Which are the measures you would propose? I´d work throughout education to incentivate kids to use clean transportation such as bikes or walking I´d plan bike roads throughout the city. Work on circulation of air, installing new parks. 4. Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area? Not that im aware of. Unfortunately in my country, the problem of global warming is not given the importance it should recieve [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14568543199348001.jpg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14568545028200626.jpg1
