I don't think the UHI effect has been studied or even considered in my city. I live in a very nice and small city that has a lot of green area inside the city, we are surrounded by 4 rivers that go across the city but we also have places that are a little bit more crowded. But comparing to other years i can say there has been a change in our weather conditions, normally we would have a cold weather (cold for us) that goes from 3 degrees till 10 -14 during the day and sometimes at lunch we will have a very hot weather between 23-25 and it used to be always the same. In the morning it goes from 2 - 10 as the morning comes by maybe 12 - 18 and at midday the hottest 25 and it goes down as the afternoon comes by. But these year we have been experiencing a very warm weather almost like in the coast and we have reached almost 30 degrees that has been quite a change it is normally sunny but know it is humid and sunny and in this time of the year it is a time when it rains a lot, as you may know we don't have the four seasons in our country we go from a continuous spring, maybe autumn because is so windy and in winter it just rains. But we do have a problem in construction i think, many people keeps building and building and we don't have Dani kind of measures to control our resources, last month we got a warning from the water company saying that the levels of water and rivers have decreased and we where assigned hours by community to consume water. Which are the measures you would propose? I would propose a better use of transport, for being such a small city we do have to many cars and taxis and this is because of the bad service of public transport. In the city center there is to many traffic and you can feel a little bit the polluted air and how it becomes stressing part of the city. I would also propose the use of other renewable ways of energy using resources we have. Because of the city center is becoming such an stressing place to be, people have chosen to go to the green and outer parts of the city causing an urban expansion than is damaging our green protective areas and also causing more expenses in services and a human expansion with no planning that affects nature and will certainly affect us in the future. Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area? As i said before, people is not aware of what is the UHCI there for there are no measures taken, But there have been some decisions made according to public transport service that i think will improve the traffic situation such as the construction of the new public transport system, the TRAM and also connections and roads for bikes.
