In our country the difference is notorious, the heat in the city is awful and so uncomfortable, even if we are in the pacific coast. The concrete, glass, iron and asphalt of the city increases the UHI effect in our city. ![The concrete, glass and asphalt in Panama][1] Otherwise, in my neighborhood is a little bit comfortable than the city, almost there is no difference. but the mountains breeze refreshes a little bit our home. ![Foto aerea de Juan Diaz][2] **Which are the measures you would propose?** I think that authorities should establish: Environmental politics, promoting greener areas; Incentivate public politics in order to get a cleaner city; Improve the park administration and promote the creation of green public spaces, like central park. **Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area?** Unfortunatelly in my country there are no policies. There are urban policies about environmental care but are weak and it does not confront the UHI effects.
